Day two of our Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route 6 adventure motorcycle camping trip went a lot less smoothly than day one. The day started out easily enough, with an enjoyable motocamping morning spent sipping coffee by the fire. Everything was pretty wet from the dew the night before but otherwise it was a great first night on the Oregon BDR Route 6. After a short ride into Sutherlin, Oregon for breakfast and fuel, we once again headed up into the wilderness on our adventure bikes. From Sutherlin, OBDR Route 6 leads up into the Oregon Cascades, and we rode through some very intense fog before breaking out of it once we got high up in the mountains. Everything was going well until we came across a road closed due to the Rough Patch Oregon wildfire. We were forced to leave the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route 6 and navigate our way around the fire, which was no easy task because so many roads were closed. Thankfully, we were able to eventually navigate around to the Hills Creek Reservoir (thanks in large part to Gaia GPS) and we decided to ride around to the end of OBCDR Route 6 at Crescent lake to camp and attack the prescribed route from the other direction the following morning.
