The Lagunas Route lies in a remote corner of southwest Bolivia. At considerable altitude and far away from everything, it’s not a place for the faint of heart. We cycled slowly on deep sandy tracks and fell asleep at -15 nights. Yet, Bolivia welcomed us with kindness from locals and guides, incredible wildlife and piercing solitude.
