There’s simply too much going on in this garden border and everything is fighting for space … so today I decided to take half of it out and get a bit more breathing space.

Unfortunately that means some plants just have to go, and so I’m saying farewell to a Chilean Potato Tree and a Honeysuckle, limbing up a Pinus Vanderwolf’s Pyramid, pruning my Schneewittchen Rose, moving my Olive Tree, cutting back Hardy Geraniums, taking the fountain away to be fixed as it doesn’t seem to be working properly, and moving an obelisk elsewhere.

Now it looks so much better and I must remember the golden rule “consider mature plant sizes” (except I’ll probably ignore that rule next time I go plant shopping, I’m sure 😁
