James Gunn brings his twisted humor and style to the DCEU with The Suicide Squad. The light sequel features a few returning cast members from the previous Suicide Squad but that's about all it has in common with the first film. The action is far more violent, the humor lands so much better and the overall story is way more engaging. This is not only one of the best DCEU movies but one of the best James Gunn films. Margot Robbie and her team of misfits really impressed me and by the end of the picture, I genuinely cared about a lot of the members. If a film can get me worked up over the survival of a character named King Shark, it's absolutely done its job.
