What SpaceX just Found on Starship B13 Salvage Shocked NASA! Never Happened...
Wow, SpaceX finally did it again! But this time what they just found on Starship B13 Salvage will blow your mind!
They pulled a massive rocket from the deep, after eight months underwater.
This booster was supposed to be forgotten. Buried in the ocean.
But now? It’s back, and this bold move has everyone asking: Why did it take them so long to bring the rocket back? And what exactly did SpaceX gain from recovering Booster 13?
Let’s find out in today’s episode of Alpha Tech.
What SpaceX just Found on Starship B13 Salvage Shocked NASA! Never Happened...
Yesterday, Elon Musk posted something that quickly caught fire online. “Starship booster recovered from sea, like the ruins of a long dead civilization,” he wrote, along with a haunting image of Super Heavy’s mangled, rust-covered tail, pulled up after eight long months beneath the ocean. That’s right. It’s been underwater ever since November 19th, 2024, when the booster performed a controlled splashdown during Starship Flight 6.
More impressively, the EnlaceMx Noticias team also snapped photos during transport. From these images, it’s easy to see just how brutal the ocean has been.

The booster’s stainless steel structure is torn open, revealing the clustered COPVs at the center. These long cylindrical tanks remain intact but are now caked in grime, rust, and seabed debris, as if they’d been resting down there for a century.
Internal tubing and support frames are visibly warped or broken, likely from the force of the explosion and impact.
But what really stands out is the tail section, the engine skirt is still intact. Not completely shredded like what we saw with Booster 11.
We’ll talk more about that part in just a moment.
In another photo, this ‘pile of scrap metal’ was carefully secured using heavy-duty chains and a crane. Then, a massive blue tarp was wrapped around the engine section, probably to keep damaged parts from falling off during transport. So we don’t have a clear view of the engines, but judging by the visible structure, it’s pretty clear they’re heavily rusted and badly damaged.
