Chinese traditional Story: The Upright Leader Led by Example

Lu Gong was born in Pingling County during the Eastern Han Dynasty. He was renowned for his knowledge of etiquette. Because he was poor, the county chief sent him grain and wine. Lu Gong thanked him but soon sent it back. Later, the chief offered him a position in the county, but he politely refused. After he grew up, Lu Gong became the chief of Zhong Mou County. From the very beginning his conduct was upright, and he soon became known for his high morals and integrity.
