#chineseherbs #herbalchicken #chineseherbalpantry
Dear all,
Chinese Herbal Chicken is such a classic dish. You probably have tried it before in Chinese restaurants or have seen the herbal packs in Asian groceries. However, do you know what herbs are in the recipe? What are those herbs for? Are those herbs suitable for you and your family?
I will share a very simple and easy to make the recipe in this video. I will also go through each herb in the recipe with you. So, you will learn what to include or what to exclude in the recipe in order to create a herbal recipe that suits you at the time of consuming this herbal dish.
Since this herbal dish consists of mostly herbal tonics, this dish is not suitable during common cold or flu. You can eat it after you have fully recovered from common cold or flu.
While Dang Gui is a very common and popular Chinese herb, it does have a few precautions. Please REMOVE Dang Gui from the recipe if you have the following conditions:
1. People who take a blood thinner (especially warfarin)
2. People who have high blood pressure or heart disease
3. Pregnant women
4. During the very heavy or prolonged menstruation
5. Have heat signs, such as sore throat, smelly stools, always feel hot etc.
Without the Dang Gui, this recipe still tastes very good and still serves the function to boost Qi and blood. So, rest assured and you still can thoroughly enjoy this dish.
If you have condition 2,3, 4 & 5, please check with your qualified Chinese herbal medicine practitioner if you can eat this dish. It is not that you can't take Dang Gui, I would prefer you are supervised by your Chinese medicine practitioner as I don't know your overall health status.
