This edition commemorates the āAlaska Project IIā from the 1970s, when Omega planned to develop a Speedmaster that could withstand the extreme temperatures of outer space. The red case (included) is reflective and protects against temperatures ranging from -148°C to +260°C
Omega was launched in 2008, limited to 1970 pieces (a reference to the year of the Alaska II prototype).

Matte white dial ā high contrast, using oxide paint to reflect heat.
Lunar module chronograph hands stand out, red central seconds hand.
Comes with a red aluminum outer case, velcro strap & steel bracelet ā when removed, the watch looks like a traditional Speedmaster but with a unique white face and special hands
