This has been one of my main passions:
Smashing silence, breaking barriers, and tackling stigma through the power of culture, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness. And while working in the vehicle industry might not seem the obvious place for that, trust me — the stories and journeys here are incredible.
Through the lens of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), I’ve had the privilege of hearing from brilliant voices who’ve been quietly smashing barriers long before hashtags made it trendy.
Like Rong Su — who’s clocked nearly 30 years at Jaguar Land Rover. Yes, three decades! She’s not just been part of the journey, she’s shaped it. From championing DE&I initiatives to managing the Grace Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage network, Rong’s story is one worth sitting up for.
There are powerhouse leaders like Dr. Evona Teh recently featured on the BBC. These aren’t just people clocking in and out; they’re reshaping the future of this industry — People like Abbey H and Jamie Leigh under 30s and already making leadership moves.
Nazia Parveen whose influence reaches beyond the walls of JLR
One thing that unites us all? The understanding that whatever our job title or discipline — whether in engineering, operations, or HR — we all have a role in building a culture where every voice matters.
It’s been almost a year since we celebrated South Asian Heritage Month, and hearing people like Nancy Munoz speak about her heritage reminded me how rich these spaces are when we lean into each other’s stories.
So, here’s a shout-out to Reach — one of the DE&I networks at JLR that’s genuinely enriched my time here. Through it, I’ve gained insight, connection, and courage to keep doing what I do:
Smashing silence, one story at a time.
Big thanks to all who’ve shared their journeys. The work continues. ✊🏽✨
