🧠 How to Form the Passé Composé:
The passé composé is built from two parts:
An auxiliary verb (avoir or être) conjugated in the present tense
The past participle (participe passé) of the main verb
➡️ Pronominal verbs always use être as the auxiliary, and their past participle agrees in gender and number with the subject:
Feminine: add e
Plural: add s
🌈 Special Feature: Color Coding for Better Learning
To help you remember grammar rules more easily, we use a special color-coding system:
🟧 Orange = Past participle (participe passé)
🔵 Dark blue = Auxiliary verb avoir
🟣 Purple = Auxiliary verb être
🔴 Red = Feminine marker (e)
🟢 Green = Plural marker (s)
🟤 Burgundy (dark red) = Pronominal pronouns (se, s’, etc.)
This visual system helps you instantly identify the grammatical components of each conjugated verb and boosts memory through visual association.
