Chinese Costume Culture Center| 2023 Microcosm Unveiled Special Exhibition Video of Miao Costumes and Patterns from Qingshui

本次特展側重以貴州省台江縣清水江沿岸的革一苗族花樣本圖紋解密為展覽核心，為研究清水江流域苗族服飾的部分成果呈現，分別以「破解ＭＩＯ斯密碼」、「找尋你我的秘密暗語」、「解密之後」三個單元主題相互串連呼應。藉本次展覽把艱澀的學術研究內容做初步的系統性整合，一是希望傳遞給觀眾從另一個視角認識其他族群的文化底蘊是如何呈現，二是把整合的這些花樣轉化為未來可供學校師生做設計與創意發想的素材，冀使物質文化能再次地活化、運用，更具流動性的在當代延續傳遞。
This exhibition is centered on decoding the patterns of embroidery samplers from the Geyi Miao along the banks of the Qingshui River in Taijiang County, Guizhou Province. The three sections of the exhibition: “Decoding the MIAO Code”, “Looking for Our Secret Code”, and “Miao Unlocked” connect and reflect each other, leading us into the world and worldview of Miao clothing in the Qingshui River area. In the initial bewildering task of organizing complicated academic research into a cohesive whole, the exhibition hopes to share some of the researcher’s results, providing its visitors with a view into another people’s cultural heritage quite different from one’s own. Moreover, as far as Fu Jen’s Textiles and Fashion College faculty and students are concerned, these Miao patterns constitute unique sources of new creativity and cultural revitalization by transforming Miao people’s traditional material culture into new compositions and applications, thereby allowing the life-giving elements of traditional culture to inspire and enrich contemporary textiles and fashion creativity and innovations.
