The ‘I Am’ in You Is the same ‘I Am’ in Everyone

A questioner who says she had a realisation regarding the ‘I Am’ asks Rupert to comment. Is the sense of self the same in all beings?

Rupert says that if we were to ask two people to describe their thoughts and feelings they would be poles apart. But if we were to ask them to turn their attention away from thoughts and feelings to the pure sense ‘I am’ their experience would be identical. I'm not suggesting that one would be experiencing pure being over here and the other would be experiencing pure being over there — they would be experiencing the same being.

And the reason we want happiness for ourselves is because we love ourselves. Not our personal self; we love the Self above all else. And that's why, as an inevitable consequence of this understanding, we want happiness for everyone — because we love everyone's Self as our Self.
