Noela Rukundo found herself in an extraordinary situation - in the literal sense - when she attended a very odd funeral: her own!
Noela was born in the African nation of Burundi. She went through a lot of difficult times in her homeland before she decided to seek a better life in Australia. There, everything seemed to get better for Noela, until the fateful day she had to go home for the very strange funeral: her own. It was way back in 2004 that Noela decided it was time for a radical change in her life.
Like so many people, she spent her whole life in her homeland from childhood to teeangehood and early adulthood. Like most people in her country, she always fantasized about having another life somewhere different. Noela got married when she was of age and gave birth to five beautiful kids. She had a happy and fulfilled family who was living in stable conditions until her husband passed away, leaving her as a single mom with big responsibilities.
