Early round action from 2014 Make It Happen 8-Ball Invitational between “The Iceman” Mika Immonen and “The South Dakota Kid” Shane Van Boening.

Shane Van Boening had already won four US Open 9-Ball titles, including a record breaking three in a row. He was also already a seven time representative on Team USA at the Mosconi Cup.

Mika Immonen, originally from Helsinki Finland, had two US Open 9-Ball titles of his own, and had represented Team Europe at the Mosconi Cup fourteen times. Immonen was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame earlier in the year.
