Overlanding Indonesia: from Timor to Sumba
Indonesia! A new country on our World tour journey. The biggest archipelago country in the world, the 4th most populated country on the planet, a myriad of cultures, languages and religion. We cross the border into Indonesia on the island of Timor, reaching west timor and the city of Kupang. From there we embark on a 30 hours long ferry across the sea to the island of Sumba. In Sumba we discover the most amazing traditions, and travel across the island to attend a unique festival known as the Pasola. Horseback spear fighting between clans of west Sumba. Absolutely epic.
We can already feel that Asia is going to be special. In just a few days we make many friends and learn about traditions we had never heard about before.
Buckle up, we are overlanding in Indonesia.
