To me, this is certainly not much surprising news and is absolutely the best decision ever given Jared Isaacman’s immense contributions to space and the current political climate. After winning his way back to the White House, Donald Trump appointed his most ardent supporter, Elon Musk, to head the “Department of Government Efficiency,”. This appointment will facilitate more favorable policies and decisions that align with SpaceX's business interests, and space in general; including putting Elon's closest allies in the key government positions.

The Polaris Dawn's commander publicly accepted the nomination. He made it clear that he was “honored” to receive Trump’s nomination.
“Having been fortunate to see our amazing planet from space, I am passionate about America leading the most incredible adventure in human history,” he wrote on X.
If confirmed, Isaacman, 41, would be the fifth NASA administrator with spaceflight experience, replacing former Democratic Senator Bill Nelson, who flew into orbit aboard the space shuttle Columbia in early 1986.
The good news has really stirred up the entire space community.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk happily congratulated Issacman:
