Improve your game!
This channel is dedicated to all the gold seeking Pickleballers out there who dink responsibly and stay out of the kitchen. We have all levels come through the channel, but we concentrate on the 4.0s, 4.5s and up to 5.5s.
I started this channel quite by accident, I was recording my games to do film study and get better. I did not have time or money for lessons from pro pickleball coach, so I started watching all my screwups. People that I was playing with started to ask if they could watch too and I said sure. That helped all of us a lot to improve our game, strategy, mental toughness, and techniques. Now we have new pickleball videos published several times a week. We occasionally have pro pickleball players on the channel. Mostly its non pro pickleball players on their quest to 5.0 pickleball. We have all levels come through the channel: 4.0 pickleball, 4.5 pickleball and up to 5.5 pickleball with the pros.

We are a new territory here at The Pickleball Pirate. You know, I'm certified coach, I play 5.0, but if you don't agree with this strategy, let me know in comments below. This is the "outside in" approach to pickleballs. Play the sidelines against an experienced team. Why do I say that? That's me in the blue tank top. I'm playing Mark and Scott. Mark and Scott have played together for years, they are not going to leave the middle open. That too smart for that. And i know that. So I'm really playing to my strengths. I'm a shot maker, and I want to hit the sidelines to open the middle up. It's the "outside in" approach to pickleball. I don't watch videos on other stations. I make originals. We have over a thousand games in our database, and we don't release all of them. I look at video I try to break things down, and that's what I enjoy doing. So we jump off to a big lead and then Mark starts playing the sideline. Mark is a shot maker as well. He starts playing the sideline, he opens the middle up. And this becomes an extremely close game towards the end. Now since I have the sidelines open, I start hammer in the middle, I keep going down. They're not quite sure. I have them confused, and that's what you want to do in pickleball. This is the match point I drive down the sideline at Scott's backhand, and that's what you want to do. Now you may say "Joey, you know that's you". Now this is not me, this is Tony Gianonni. He is one of the best pickleball coaches in the nation. He's in the top right hand corner, he coaches Yates, Johns. I'm not saying he agrees with my strategy, but this is a game I broke down. This is what they do: they hammer the sidelines and then the middle becomes open. This point Hendry goes down the sideline, and then look how open that sideline is. Tony hits that beautiful backhand, and everyone who doesn't know Jamie Oncins and he is in the lower left-hand corner, he beat Ivan Lendl at the French Open. He got as high I believe to 20s in the world (don't quote me on that). But he was an extremely accomplished tennis player. Nicest guy you'll ever see. That's match point, but look, they played the sidelines to open the middle up.
Let's summarize this is an advanced outside in contrarian strategy that i came up with. So if you don't agree with it let me know in the comments. I play the sidelines at the beginning of the game to open the middle up. It's best for shot makers that start games nervous. I get a little nervous thinking at the beginning. I really like to be aggressive. Use against an experienced team that has a middle covered once sidelines are established, hammer middle! Pickleball lovers, thank you so much for watching! Let me know if you agree with the strategy in the comments below. Have a good day!
