Watch paddles spin comparison @The Pickleball Studio

Hey everyone! It's time for me to review the new Invikta Project 003 paddle from Selkirk. You want to see how it plays? Let me tell you about it! First off let me just give you my overall impression of this paddle: I played with the Vanguard 2.0. This is the Vanguard 2.0 on steroids with a lot of spin. Let me explain. First let's compare it to 16 millimeter core paddles or even the Diadem Warrior. It actually looks thinner than them because it doesn't have an edge guard. It's one of the cool things. I like it's got an edgeless Dura Edge, so the whole paddle is a sweet spot. In fact if you weight it like I did - I put weight here here here here and here in the neck to weight this in about eight six where I like to play it. The whole face feels like a sweet spot. Let me talk about the balance. The balance on these actually comes in very headlight. For a paddle that actually is this thick I was shocked at how headlight this was. Very easy to maneuver, very quick at the net. I actually got faster at the net when I started playing this paddle. People even said that I was beating in hand battles that I had never beat before. They're like “man, you got better at the net with this”. It's got tons of control this is a control paddle. This is not a power paddle. If you want Power, this is not the paddle for you. But like I showed you, it's long enough to have a two-handed backhand and the spin on this thing the spin that this can generate is one of the top three on the market only behind the project 002 and the power air the carbons this is still above the carbon paddles but they're all about top five I would put the carbon 13 millimeter right behind the power air and this pedal actually even though it's a 20 millimeter core it really does a good job so um let's talk about the comparison to another paddle Vanguard 2.0 is the best one I can compare it to it's got just as much control with a little bit more pop it's got a very unique feel to it when you hit it it's very crisp coming off the face so at first contact you feel like it's going to be a lot more powerful Pavel but it's not it's a control paddle and tons of spin the only con that I can come up with this is the Selkirk Labs program which makes this paddle 333 bucks but let me explain the labs program is a feedback loop it's for you to get into this program to get these paddles and then you then can buy into the program and then give feedback so if you don't like something about the paddle you tell sell Kirk about it and then they're going to fix it for example the project 002 the power air came out of the project 02 the feedback that they received on that one they changed in the project 002 from the 002 they fixed it on the power air which is really cool that they'll do that now it um with my discount I've got a discount code below and you can put that in and you can get a 40 gift card for buying this paddle so it's like having a 10 discount a little bit above 10 discount because the paddle lists for 333 bucks but that's the only con I can come up with other than that this is my go-to paddle This is the paddle that's in my bag the this is the one that I'm playing now moving forward and the one that is setting the bar for me on all other paddles let's get to the technical same exact size and shape as the Invikta Vanguard 2.0 or the Invikta shape. I love this shape it comes in points 7.8 ounces to eight ounces it's got a four and a quarter inch grip it's got a 5.25 inch grip it's got a 16.5 inch link and it's got a 20 millimeter core it is the thickest paddle on the market.
