The Tokyo Olympics have just come to an end. On the final day of competition, the United States surpassed China at the gold medal standings, nullifying the celebrations prepared by the CCP's extensive media system.
However, Beijing was counting on a gold medal strategy, hoping to grab the top spot in the gold medal standings, and now the U.S. has won 39 gold medals in the Games, while Chinese athletes have won a total of 38. Losing by 1 gold medal is a profound disappointment for Beijing.
