On September 10, 2023, Air China Flight CA403 to Singapore caught fire in the sky. Its left engine was in flames as smoke was seen between the front storage and the lavatory. The flight landed at Singapore Changi Airport at 4:00 p.m. Passengers and crew were evacuated safely. Passengers told Chinese media that the flight was almost full, with nearly 150 seats. Smoke filled the cabin and a fire broke out in the aircraft's left engine located in the central part of the aircraft. Passengers evacuated using the escape slide.
