UVU: Beit Lehi Archeological Project
15 Video Views·Dec 29, 2024
Seven UVU students and three faculty spent 10 days at Beit Lehi, an archaeological site near Jerusalem dating back to 600 B.C. At the site, they laid out a complex survey grid above ground that all the future surveying, mapping, and design work will connect to. They also started three-dimensional scanning of many of the underground chambers, tombs and tunnels, using a leading-edge scanning technology capable of capturing millions of surveyed points in a matter of minutes. Future groups of students will continue the surveying work, design a visitors' center for the site and produce a movie for tourists that describes the site's archaeological history and excavation progress.
