Hypothetically if a Goonies 2 had an inciting incident or starting point... It would need to be with Brand and a dramatic reason for him returning to Astoria. Maybe the museum closed years ago and his and Mikey's father has recently passed away. There needs to be a coincidence with a bit of déjà vu, Brand would see maybe another map or doubloon shaped thing there at a garage sale or something. And he has a flashback to that morning on the beach and we probably see from his perspective what happened next after the pirate ship sails and everybody sees it. Brand went along for the crazy adventure, but he was more into Andy back then, so we should probably see if their relationship lasted after that. And then back in present day how he gets back in contact with Mikey.
