Many people obtain their high-speed internet access via a cable company. A complex RF technology called DOCSIS provides the framework for download speeds up to 10Gbe to your home. We will explore how cable companies use an RF transmission line to deliver high-speed data to your cable modem. We will look at major problems that impact packet loss and data flow to your home. We will not cover video just data. We will look at CMTS, the hybrid fiber-coax distribution system, and your modem.
