The Telstar Combo was a Taiwanese 1960s pop band.

They were the backing band for a number of Taiwanese singers, most notably Hsieh Lei (谢雷).

Rare iconic groovy instrumental garage surf rock out of Taiwan. Look at that cover with their guitars, farfisa organ, tambourine and bongo's in hand! Surf rock sounds in that early Ventures style (hence the band name I'm guessing) with lot's of twangy guitar, swirling go-go organ work, some crazy drumming breaks, etc.

The band play in this record is called Telstar Combo, they were the exclusive session band of Haishan Records as well as important pushers of Taiwan’s pop music (especially the band leader, Wong Hsiao-Liang [翁孝良], who later successfully assisted Tom Chang (張雨生) and several artists made their debut) .
