Respiratory Virus Hospitalization Surveillance Network (RESP-NET) is made up of three networks that monitor COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and influenza hospitalizations. Launched in 2003 as part of CDC’s strategy for addressing the worldwide threat of emerging infectious diseases, the network has had tangible effects on major public health policies, including playing a pivotal role in crucial decisions surrounding influenza, COVID-19, and RSV vaccine policies.
