76 years have passed since that Friday in the spring of 1948, when the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra performed HaTikvah at the signing of the Declaration of Independence. But this year there will be no fireworks on the eve of Independence Day, and the explosions and sirens that have accompanied us since October are still echoing loudly.
