ExclusiveTwinkles of the Middle Kingdom: Great Marsh Rising 2

Driving rain turned wheel ruts into gurgling sludge,
choking me dumb, stranding the men
where they camped, watching the deluge.
Later in the morning, when the downpour gave a reprieve,
a gang of them with the dark face
bounded away to the village, and jaunted back just past noon,
with a silver carp hanging from strings fastened to its mouth.
The rest of the men crowded around at the sight of the fish,
bundles of vegetables and legumes.
They soon set to work: a large pot of water was set upon a fire;
vegetables cut; the fish cleaned and then --.

傾盆大雨將車轍變成了咕嘟作響的泥漿，
淹沒了我，困住了那些男人，他們只能待在營地，看著傾盆大雨。
第二天早上晚些時候，當暴雨暫時停歇時，他們中的一群人，由那個黑臉男人帶頭，跳躍著奔向村莊，中午剛過就興高采烈地跑回來，一條銀魚用繩子穿嘴吊著。
看到魚和捆綁的蔬菜和豆類，其他男人都圍了過來。他們很快開始工作：一個大水壺放在火上；蔬菜被切好；魚被清洗乾淨，然後——
一聲尖叫，接著是喧鬧聲，負責清洗魚的人揮舞著一塊印有模糊字跡的白色絲綢，衝向黑臉男人。
“這？在魚肚子裡？”黑臉男人難以置信地說。
（他在裝模作樣。我看到他在天亮前把絲綢交給賣魚的人，沒人起床的時候。）
他攤開絲綢，讀著上面的字，“陳勝王”。人們面面相覷，滿眼困惑，然後全都轉向陳勝，彷彿他變成了一個巨人。
