He also ordered the cutting down of apricot trees to plant crops, to avoid the apricots becoming tributes as well. His actions were initially misunderstood, but eventually, the people understood and appreciated them, and they sculpted a stone statue in his honor. Zhang Yi's leadership demonstrated his deep care for the people and his far-sighted wisdom.
