Recalling the ritual of lighting candles at his ancestors' graves, he realizes that life and death are interconnected, and life is like a breath that emerges from the earth and then returns to it. He reflects on his personal and family history, as well as societal changes, ultimately recognizing the brevity of life and the value of writing. Although he humbly claims to only manage a "farmer's courtyard," his works and thoughts, like the teachings of Buddha and the Earth God, illuminate and protect people's souls.
