The Varaita Stura Kammstrasse (Strada dei Cannoni) was the second track on day 5 for us. After we said our goodbyes to Valle & Friends we continiued on the Maira Stura Kammstrasse (ridge road) for a little while. A quick lunch break and tank stop later we found ourselves riding a very long and exciting ascent to the Varaita Stura Kammstrasse - which is similar to the Maira Stura - a road that follows a mountain ridge. We were already pushing our limits timewise as we were close to sunset when we approached this track when Thomas KTM broked down with a dead battery halfway to the tour.
