It could be said that, with the passing of Ivry Gitlis in 2020, the musical world lost one of its most unique virtuosi. The peerless Israeli violinist graced the stages of Verbier several times throughout his distinctive career. Gitlis's unforgettable 2011 renditions of several treasured showpieces - together with pianists Khatia Buniatishvili and Martha Argerich - quite possibly marked one of his last public performances.
