This park features the 1942 USS Alabama Battleship, nicknamed "the Mighty A", which served in World War II and was decommissioned after the war. You can tour the ship and see how the sailors lived and worked on board. You can also check out other exhibits, such as aircraft, tanks, submarines, and memorials. #2: Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the Civil Rights Historic District Alabama played a crucial role in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, and you can learn more about this history at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the Civil Rights Historic District.
