US congressman introduces bill to ban TikTok

Chairman Mike Gallagher, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi of the House China committee, and 17 lawmakers have introduced a bill to ban app stores from distributing TikTok unless ByteDance no longer controls the platform.
The bill gives ByteDance 165 days to divest from TikTok.
FBI director Christopher Wray once told Congress that TikTok is under the control of the Chinese government and that it "screams out with national security concerns."
