
Rep. Travis Couture leads Republican effort to stop needless fentanyl-related child deaths

Rep. Travis Couture, R-Gig Harbor, led a unanimous effort by House Republicans to add an amendment to HB 6109 and protect children from fentanyl-addicted parents. Couture's amendment would have the lowered the legal threshold for a court to find an imminent harm exists due to fentanyl in the home to provide clarity for judges remove the child. The amendment was narrowly defeated by Democrats on a 46-49 vote. Couture
