Grojogan Sewu. Waterfalls. Tawangmangu Indonesia

Grojogan dalam bahasa Jawa berarti air terjun dan sèwu berarti seribu. Sehingga Grojogan Sèwu berarti air terjun seribu. Meski air terjun di sini tidak berjumlah seribu, tetapi ada beberapa titik air terjun yang dapat dinikmati di sini. Kata sewu atau seribu disini berasal dari seribu pecak, atau satuan jarak yang digunakan saat itu yang merupakan tinggi air terjun. Satu pecak sama dengan satu telapak kaki orang dewasa. Air terjun tertinggi yang ada tingginya sekitar 81 meter. Ada pula air terjun yang tidak terlalu tinggi tetapi pancurannya meluas dan membentuk cabang-cabang. Bila sedang musim hujan, sekeliling tebing akan dihujani air terjun, tetapi saat musim panas, banyak air terjun yang kering.

Grojogan means waterfall in Javanese and sèwu means thousand. So Grojogan Sèwu means thousand waterfalls. Even though there are not a thousand waterfalls here, there are several waterfall points that can be enjoyed here. The word sewu or thousand here comes from a thousand pecak, or the unit of distance used at that time which was the height of the waterfall. One crack is equal to one adult's foot. The highest waterfall is around 81 meters high. There are also waterfalls that are not too high but the shower extends and forms branches. During the rainy season, waterfalls will be showered around the cliffs, but during the summer, many of the waterfalls are dry.
