【經典西方典故】丘比特的神箭-->阿波羅和達芙妮的故事 ｜Apollo and Daphne: From Pursuit to Transformation

Apollo, the god of music and poetry, was known for his arrogant and boastful nature. One day, Eros, the god of love, retaliated against Apollo's hubris by shooting him with a golden arrow, causing him to fall deeply in love with Daphne, a beautiful nymph and daughter of the river god Peneus.
Daphne, however, had no desire to return Apollo's affections. As Apollo passionately pursued her, Daphne desperately fled, pleading with her father for help. In a final act of desperation, she cried out to the gods, begging them to save her from Apollo's relentless pursuit.
Peneus, moved by his daughter's pleas, transformed Daphne into a laurel tree, just as Apollo's grasp reached her. Devastated by the loss of his beloved, Apollo declared the laurel tree to be sacred, honoring Daphne's memory and using its leaves to create crowns for victors and champions.
