Lecture-3: Biogeography

In this lecture, we peruse the field of Biogeography, defined as the study of the geographical distribution of life on Earth and the reasons for the patterns one observes on different continents, islands and oceans. We describe the causes of limited distribution of species and discuss the various physical, chemical, biological and behavioural factors that govern the distribution and abundance of organisms on our planet.
