Harvesting Lotus Stems at the Powell Garden to Make Lotus Silk

Inspired by several articles I read, including a piece in The Long Thread, I contacted Powell Gardens to see if they had any lotus I could harvest, learn about and experiment with. It turns out they have a multiple lotus ponds and were excited to see what we could do. With the help of a friend and colleague, Christina "Swamp Monster" Larkins, I was able to create some of this amazing yarn.
