Van Life Week 4 l The Obelisk (King's Canyon climbing)

We make the journey to the Obelisk on 10 miles of unmaintained trail after spotting the rock formation from the highway in King's Canyon. After our 40 mile Rae Lakes Loop, with 8,400 ft of elevation gain, somehow we decide another 4,000 ft is a good idea. After a nightmare night of camping with a thousand mosquitos and loooong approach, we summit the Obelisk as the first party of 2021 in the register. My first alpine climb!
