The Aphelandra sinclairiana has many names, Panama Queen, Orange Shrimp plant (though not a Justicia) and Coral Aphelandra. These beautiful tropical shrubs vary a lot from their cousin, the Aphelandra squarrosa ( the Zebra plant ) though it makes an equally as nice of a houseplant. For an indoor garden, the aphelandra sinclairiana makes an addition as a houseplant. Few houseplants bloom during the long winter months indoors. The panama queen will delight for several weeks with bountiful and colorful blooms of orange and pink flowers.
This video is a plant spotlight and plant chat for how to grow and how to care for the exquisite Panama queen! I'm hearing this plant isn't all that common from a lot of viewers, hopefully it will become more readily available. It is certainly not crazy rare or worthy of being a plant in the rare plant index.
