Favorite Variegated Perennial! Growing Petasites japonicus and Petasites hybridus
All about of my favorite perennials, the Petasites! In this video I talk about how to grow these special and unique plants. The two I currently I have are Petasites japonicus variegatus and Petasites hybridus. I purchased both of these through brian's botanicals and they I believe the were featured in a plant haul video a few years ago, but I can't find it. Also called the butterbur and dinosaur food, these are one of my all time favorite tropical plant dupes. If you're wanting to plants to give that tropical garden vibe but you don't have the warm season, this is a plant that will thrill. These are also superb plants for bogs, ponds and areas with poor drainage as they love wet soil. Need a good spreading plant for the shade? Petasites are amazing plants for shade, as long as you have space for them to spread and who couldn't adore those giant variegated leaves!
