Potting Zinnia Rainbow! Adding Color to the Patio | Looking Back at The Old Garden | Garden Work
In this week's Saturday vlog, I finally got the pumpkin vines pulled up to open up the patio again. Once the vines were gone I was able to get access into the garden to do some much needed pruning and weed control. After all of the pruning, I was getting links from an old croton care video to add to a different video and ended up doing a brief look back at the old garden. It was fun seeing the old pygmy date palm, sago palms, crotons, variegated heliconias and caladiums. Then I potted up a bunch of Magellan Mix Zinnias and Pachystachys lutea to add some quick color to the patio. This was a beautiful plant haul! I talked about caring for zinnias in pots, how to prune zinnias and how to harvest seeds from zinnias. Lastly, I quickly showed some new plants that I got for the garden and for bonsai. The clethra barbinervis takeda nishiki is rare plant that I have been trying to find for the years! The dwarf wisteria for bonsai isn't exactly rare, but I've never been able to find them for sale locally. That one is Wisteria sinensis kofuji. I forgot to mention the common names for the Pachystachys lutea, they are commonly called, yellow shrimp plant, shrimp plant, lollypop plant. I should note that "shrimp plant" also goes to larger group of plants known as Justicia.
