Hey, friends! I've been having this idea for the video in my "must film" list for a while now, planning for all the books and book themed activities and crafts I would like to share with you! And Christmas is just the perfect time to finally pull it off. I'm inviting you to join me for the coziest (and probably my favorite) video of the year! It will include a Christmas book haul featuring my favorite winter picture books. I'll show you my very first experience of making a painted book edge and custom made candle/candle label inspired by my fav Sarah J. Maas's book series The Court of Thorns and Roses. And since it's Christmas time I made a present for you all!!! (read the details below 👇) Let's cuddles under the warm blanket and have a relaxed read while the Christmas lights are twinkling in the background!

All you have to do is to print and glue together the parts. Measure your book's spine and glue the parts in a way that the dust jacket fits your paperback precisely. The link will be available till New Year. After the New Year I'll deactivate it. If you want to get the dust jacket after the New Year, send me a DM on Instagram and I'll give you the link.

A Smoking Bishop recipe from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens I found here https://toriavey.com/drinking-with-charles-dickens-the-smoking-bishop/ and it was absolutely delicious! I would advise to follow the recipe precisely and combine concentrated mix with Port vine before serving.

For the painted book edge here is a YouTube tutorial I was following https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VQhqA7uewCw
I also used metallic acrylic markers and white gel pen to paint the patterns on the book edge.

Handmade book mark: I used a piece of green felt for the base, white cotton for embroidery, two shades of green, red and peach-pink embroidery threads and red ribbon for a loop on the top. I draw a custom embroidery pattern and then hand stitched the felt base and the cotton piece folding the edges of the cotton innate and pressing them with hot iron.

Custom made candle. Here is a great tutorial I personally find very straightforward and extremely helpful for such a newby as myself https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I7OOt6cQfjM
Materials that I used: a glass jar, bee+soy wax mix, candle wick, thin cellulose sketchbook paper, watercolor paints, black ink pen, glue stick. A few tips: always fix the wick while the candle comes down. After I painted my label with watercolors, I pressed it with an iron to make it fully flat.
