The Upham Hotel Santa Barbara

One of the best places to eat and stay in Santa Barbara-We visit the Upham Hotel and Louie's California Bistro. As California re-opens a great spot is this property that is the oldest continuously running hotel in Southern California. Opened in 1871 by Amasa Lincoln a distant cousin of Abraham Lincoln the Hotel became the Upham Hotel in 1898. Constructed of redwood , has sweeping verandas and is surrounded by an acre of gardens and intimate sitting areas. We particularly liked the cottages . The Fireplace Garden King room was a favorite with privacy galore.

One of the great things about the Upham is access to Louie's California Bistro as a part of the Hotel. Great food and an great place to meet your guests. The Upham is also a great place for events and to hold corporate seminars. We particularly liked attending training session put on by the nearby Hudson Institute for their Life Forward and coaching certification.
