Flower of Freedom - 自由花-毋忘六四 (English)

On 4 June 2021, Chow Hang Tung was arrested by Hong Kong Police in relation to the annual vigil for the victims of the Communist Party massacre of democracy protestors on Tiananman Square in 1989:

The song was about Tiananmen, but the violent tyranny of one-party rule has now made itself known in Hong Kong.

My modified lyrics:
Those dark memories will live on evermore,
Deep in our hearts, we still remember June 4
We condemned, and in time our grief becomes power
We search for the truth, a vision for the hour

Not afraid, we hold on, though the road is long
Never minding sharp thorns, we hold on to our song,
In its silence the crowd has a deafening voice,
Give Hong Kong to the people, give them freedom of choice.

Those martyrs for freedom, they passed us the fire
