How To Control And Prevent Box Tree Moths and Caterpillars from killing your topiary, buxus and boxwood plants. These moths and caterpillars came over accidentally from South East Asia over 10 years ago and have been steadily increasing in their population. Left untreated they will destroy your plants by laying eggs on the underside of the leaves, hatching larvae which feed on your plant, creating a sticky weblike substance. Once your plant becomes infested it will inevitably be unable to recover so I wanted to show you a way to prevent this from happening to you. The moths’ cycle starts in April and goes through to October so you need to put a moth trap by your plants and fill with a pheromone solution which will attract the male moths and stop this cycle before it can take hold. I show you how to do this here.
