Attorney General Canada v Attorney General Ontario (Implementation of treaties)

In this international law case, the Privy Council confirmed that national parliaments in federal nations (in this case the Canadian parliament) can only legislate to implement treaty obligations if they have constitutional authority to make that legislation. If not, implementation will require cooperation between the federal government and the states.
