Trump reveals Iran war could go for at least the next year

Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says US President Donald Trump has suggested the war in Iran could continue for “at least the next year”.

“There was always a risk of escalation, and it seems like we’re in the middle of that right now,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News Australia.

“I think it’s hard to predict specific periods of time, but Donald Trump did take to social media in the last 24 hours to say that he believed the American military was prepared to engage for at least the next year.

“That’s a long time even in Trump world.”
