his is the first installment in an online tutorial series on creating Red Poppy textile art. In this video, textile artist Caroline Sharkey demonstrates how to create a uniquely textured fabric background using a confetti-style fabric layering technique, combined with metallic fibers and sequins. The materials are secured with a water-soluble stabilizer and then stitched using free-motion embroidery before the stabilizer is washed away, leaving behind a richly textured artistic surface ready for the next stages of the project.
