Brioche just like in France! A simple and incredibly delicious recipe!
This brioche recipe yields a wonderfully airy, delicate and aromatic yeast pastry with a rich buttery flavor. The dough is made from fresh yeast, warm milk, eggs, butter and wheat flour, which makes it particularly soft and elastic. After rising, the dough is formed into small balls which, during baking, grow together to form a golden-brown, fragrant brioche.
The surface is brushed with an egg and milk mixture before baking, resulting in a shiny, appetizing crust. Inside, the pastry remains incredibly fluffy, slightly sweet, and buttery soft. Freshly baked, brioche tastes especially good with butter, jam or honey and is perfect for breakfast or with a cup of coffee or tea.
Even beginners can master this simple recipe, bringing classic French flavor directly to your kitchen.
Recipe:
200 ml warm milk (¾ cup)
450 g wheat flour (3¾ cups)
3 tablespoons sugar (3 tablespoons)
3 eggs + 1 egg yolk
110 g butter (½ cup)
5-6 g salt (1 tablespoon)
20 g fresh yeast (1 oz)
Knead the dough and let it rest for 60 minutes.
Brush with the egg-milk mixture.
Bake at 180 °C (356 °F) for 35–40 minutes.
Have fun baking!
